The Sever Award is conferred annually since 1970 by the Stane Sever Foundation for best individual acting achievements in professional theatre, for best student acting accomplishment, and for best creation in amateur theatre. The award is named after the legendary Slovene theatre and film actor Stane Sever (1914–1970) and conferred by an expert jury.

Propositions for the awards can be made by all Slovene professional theatres, the Slovenian Association of Dramatic Artists, Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT), and the Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia.

Some recent recipients of the Sever Award are Uroš Fürst, Jana Zupančič, Primož Pirnat, Saša Mihelčič, Peter Musevski, Nataša Matjašec Rošker, and Renato Jenček for achievements in professional theatres and Blaž Šef, Maruša Kink, Nina Ivanišin, Jure Henigman, and Žiga Udir for student acting creations.
