Every October Zavod Big organises the Month of Design in Ljubljana with a number of events happening throughout the city. The National Design Awards are granted to the best designers. Since 2009 the Hiše Awards are awarded for the best individual housing project at the Big Architecture Festival, organised by Zavod Big together with Hiše Magazine. The project 180˚Stage – a series of engaging short, time-limited presentations – accompanies each issue of the magazine, starting with the theme What makes a good house? in March 2010.
In 2009 the exhibition 11x ena hiša ("11x one house") took place at the Arhitectural Gallery DESSA showing 11 examples of single-family houses that were published in Hiše Magazine in the years 2007–2008. The exhibition spotlighted some of the questions that architects face when designing this type of house. The exhibition 11x ena curated by editor Maja Ivanič was organised in partnership with DESSA also in 2005 and 2006 (with a focus on renovation), to highlight great architectural projects in Slovenia.
Ongoing exhibitions of architectural and design projects address citizens in the centre of Ljubljana from the urban display unit City Spider ("Migetalkar") designed by Dominika Batista in 2006.
