Membership
The members of the association are individuals, not companies (see the Association of Book Publishers), who must be approved by the Supervisory Board of the Association upon joining. The members' commitment is voluntary, yet substantial. The Association of Slovene Publishers endeavours to influence the publishing industry via international networking and to enhance professionalism through exchange of education and experience.
International cooperation
With the aid of the Ministry of Culture the association has twice organised the Knjiga na Slovenskem [Books in Slovenia] congress in Portorož. The most recent congress took place in May 2011, together with the 5th Knjigotrška akademija [Booksellers' Academy] under the title Elektronska knjiga [Electronic Book]. Distinguished guests from Slovenia and abroad (the Netherlands, Great Britain, Belgium, Norway, and Spain) participated at this international event. The topics of the 9th congress included: challenges of digitalisation, distribution, and marketing strategies in the field of publishing and bookselling.
