Municipal cultural institutions

See below the list of larger cultural institutions, which were founded by municipalities but are state financed. The centralised funding assists to ensure common standards in all Slovene regions, however the Local governments are responsible for the operation of these cultural institutions of broader importance (10 municipal theatre houses and 35 museums) and appoint directors to their respective councils.
