Repertoire
The choir mostly performs a cappella. Its repertoire includes works of great masters of choral music all the way from baroque until today's modern works. The choir also often performs Slovene folk songs.
International awards
As soon as the University of Maribor was established in 1975 the choir became mixed, and under the name Maribor Academic Choir went on to win some of the most prestigious prizes at home and abroad, including the gold medal at competitions in Cork, Ireland (1986); in Pardubice, Czech Republic (1995); at the Naša pesem Choir Competition (1997); at the International Bohuslav Martinů Festival and Choir Competition in Czech Republic (1999); and at the International Choir Competition in Jersey (2004).
More recently it received first prizes in the Festival Internacional de Música de Cantonigròs (2006) in the women's choir category and in Slovakia Cantat (2009).
