Two Slovene artist have won the prestigious Golden Nika Award (Marko Peljhan in 2001 and Maja Smrekar in 2017). P74 Centre and Gallery regularly presents artists at the ViennaFair, while the Fotografija Gallery and Photon Gallery participate at the ViennaPhotoBook Festival. In 2013 the latter opened a gallery in Vienna.
Quite a few partnerships have lasted for years, among them a collaboration between the temporary Radio Cona and the Ö1 Kunstradio, or the creative collaboration between the accordionists Bratko Bibič and Otto Lehner.
