The Association of Book Publishers is one of the associations within the Chamber of Publishing, Bookselling, Graphic Industry, Radio and TV Media (GZS-ZKGM), part of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS). Its members are economic organisations as well as other legal persons active in the branches of book publishing. Also included are other members of the Chamber of Commerce who have registered book publishing activities alongside their primary activity.
The association organises the annual Slovene Book Fair with its training programme the Publishing Academy and Best Book Design, Best First Book, and Schwentner Awards. It also bestows the Original Slovene Picture Book Award on 2 April, the International Children's Book Day (ICBD) and birthday of Hans Christian Andersen.
