Institute for Sonic Arts Research A prototype ultrasound instrument used to create and perform the improvisational composition Sonic beams / Acoustic shadows, for Ultrasound Haptics Project, by Miha Ciglar, Institute for Sonic Arts Research (IRZU) in 2010 The Institute for Sonic Arts Research (IRZU) was established in 2008 by Miha Ciglar, an audio engineer and sound artist working at the intersection of art and technology. IRZU is based on an interdisciplinary concept and produces works in the field of electro-acoustic music/inter-media performances and installations and conducts audio technology research and educational activities. Slovenian Alpine Museum The entrance of the Slovenian Alpine Museum opened in August 2010 The Slovenian Alpine Museum dedicated to mountaineering in Slovenia opened in August 2010 at the entrance to the Vrata Valley in the Triglav National Park. The new multifunctional edifice by the architects Boris Leskovec, Alja Vehovec, and Rok Kajtna hosts a permanent collection (previously displayed as a part of the Triglav Museum Collection), a specialised library, a historic mountain bivouac (transformed into a so-called escape room), temporary exhibitions, lectures, screenings, and presentations of Slovene and international mountaineering achievements.
