Slovene films That Day of the Week (re Big Foot Mama), In the year of hip hop and Goat will recover by Luksuz Production
at the DORF, Documentary Rock Film Festival
Since 2002 Luksuz Production has organised an international youth exchange programme involving film workshops at Trška gora in the vicinity of Krško. The films created at the workshop usually deal with current social themes (youth participation, cultural diversity, European identity, etc) and are available on DVD for festival distribution and also on the Internet. Some of these films have received international awards. In 2007 a 10-day workshop hosted 40 participants working on documentary films. Researches on cultural diversity were made in various countries and presented in the form of short films. Discussions and screenings were followed by work on documentaries under the tutorship of well-known film maker Želimir Žilnik. At the end of the workshop the films were presented to public. This project was supported by the EU programme Youth in Action, the European Cultural Foundation (ECF) and the Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia (JSKD).
In 2003 Luksuz Production launched the Luksuz Cheap Film Festival as a showcase for short and low-budget film productions by both domestic and foreign experimental and alternative directors and activists,
Luksuz Production has also been involved in film programmes. It co-operates regularly with Kino OTOK - Isola Cinema Festival in organising film workshops and in 2007 it co-produced Boris Petković's feature film Paris.love with Gustav Film.
