The School of Arts of University of Nova Gorica was founded in 2009 upon fifteen years of groundwork of Famul Stuart School of Applied Arts and based on its three-year long academic type of Digital Arts and Practices studies. The programme covers animation, video film, photography and new media. The basic framework of the School of Arts are the arts and its uses in the broadest possible sense.

Faithful to the initial concept of the Famul Stuart School of Applied Arts, the studies at the university facilitate the artistic expression as well as the engagement in the commercial environment of creative industries.
