DUM Association of Artists was founded by choreographer and dancer Mateja Bučar. After graduating from Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory and the Rosella Hightower Dance Centre in Cannes, France, Mateja Bučar became a member of the Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana and subsequently a member of Dance Theatre Ljubljana. Since 1996, she has choreographed numerous performances and was awarded the Ksenija Hribar Award for life time achievement in 2017.
In developing her dance works, Mateja Bučar regularly collaborates with philosophers and theorists Renata Salecl and Robert Phaller, alongside visual artist Vadim Fiskin and a number of established contemporary dancers, such as Magdalena Reiter, Katja Legin, Maja Kalafatić, Kaja Lorenci, etc. Since 2010, she has been developing urban choreographies (Green Light, The Unnoticed, Green Table, Dual - Dancers Without Answers) in co-production with Kino Šiška Centre for Urban Culture. Her prior works were co-produced by Cankarjev dom Culture and Congress Centre, Dance Theatre Ljubljana and Škuc Gallery.
