The production agency Arsmedia was established in 1995 by Franci Zajc, a television producer with substantial production experience accumulated during the late 1960s, 1970s and 1980s on high-quality Slovene TV series such as Decameron, Views of the Slovene Mountains and feature films such as Blossoms in Autumn.

Arsmedia filmography includes several feature films, including the TV movie Triptych of Agata Schwarzkobler (1996), directed by Matjaž Klopčič, the Austrian co-production Radio Doc (1995), directed by Miran Zupanič which was awarded First Prize at the Festival of Slovene Film, and Dark Angels (1999), directed by Sašo Podgoršek. In 2001 Arsmedia produced Poker by Vinci Vogue Anžlovar, Rascals! by Miran Zupanič and Sweet Dreams by Sašo Podgoršek; all of them were awarded prizes at the Festival of Slovene Film. Sweet Dreams also received prizes at the Film Festivals in Motovun and Valencia in 2001 and in Setubal (the FIPRESCI award) and Braunschweig in 2002. Other works include the historical film Ljubljana je ljubljena ('Ljubljana the Beloved', 2005), a co-production with Radio-Television Slovenia (RTV Slovenia) and Jadran Film, Zagreb directed by Matjaž Klopčič, and Petelinji zajtrk (2007), a film adaptation of the novel by Feri Lainšček directed by Marko Naberšnik.

Arsmedia has also produced several short fiction films, ranging from Pesem od Ludomorca ('Ballad of the Butcher', 1997, directed by Jane Kavčič) and Abyssinia (1999) by Karpo Godina to Sirota s čudežnim glasom ('Heintje', 2003) by Miha Mazzini. In 2006-2007 many short films by younger authors produced by Arsmedia were successfully shown at home and abroad: Rezina življenja ('A Slice of Life', 2006) directed by Martin Turk received the Award for Best Short Film in the 9th Festival of Slovene Film in Portorož and was subsequently screened at the Premiers Plans Festival in Angers, France, at the Huesca Film Festival in Spain in June 2007 and later in Valencia where the short film Moj sin, seksualni manijak ('My Son, a Sex Maniac', 2006) by Goran Vojnović was also shown. Arsmedia also produced Edi Šelhaus: Bil sem zraven (2007) by Martin Gruden and Made in Slovenia (2007) by Miran Zupanič.

Short animated films produced by Artsmedia include Fables by Bojan Jurc and Dissident by Zdravko Barišič, and video features included Nataša Prosenc's Twosome Loneliness-Evening, which won prizes at the Brooklyn Festival in New York and at the Festival of Short Film and Video New York EXPO in 2000.

Arsmedia has also produced various short documentaries and documentary essays (including several directed by Igor Likar), some portraits, and in 2002 the feature-length documentary Story of Mr P F directed by Karpo Godina. For television it has produced the Land Of Fertile Sand (2003), a documentary on Yemen, and Kocbek (2004), a documentary on the Slovene poet.

Most of Arsmedia’s productions are funded by the Slovene Film Fund and Radio-Television Slovenia (RTV Slovenia), however, the documentary The Eyes of Bosnia, which won an award at the Festival of Slovene Film in Portorož, was produced independently by Arsmedia using its own resources.
